De Schout is the smallest allotment garden hobby complex in the Netherlands. It is located in a 50m2 raised border on the square at Schout Heynrickstraat that has been made available by the municipality for residents’ initiatives. The complex houses a herb garden, various berry bushes and fruit trees, a garden cupboard with tools and a shed for local residents who want to rent the space for a small amount for their hobby. On the roof is a small-scale New York-style water silo, which stores rainwater to irrigate the plants on the roof and as a water supply for the herb garden.
