The Stoker #03 - Work - Stad in de Maak

This issue is dedicated to the topic of work, the work we did in and around the common spaces and the projects we worked on collectively, but also to the use of work and of a universal basic income.

In short:

City in the Making seeks new, socially inclusive forms of housing in the city. The foundation manages properties where collective living is possible for diverse target groups. Of these properties, 30 percent are designated for 'commoning'; the joint sharing of facilities and/or the management of facilities for the neighborhood. In addition, we initiated several larger living communities such as Pension Almonde and Vlaardingen Commons. We are currently working on new community projects in Vlaardingen. Our mission is to start a housing cooperative in Rotterdam and thereby perpetuate collective living in larger cities.
